AGAINST IRONY (English version)
(The Hague: Since We Last Spoke About Monuments at Stroom, 2008)

Text engraved on four fine-grained Belgian bluestone plates. In this pamphlet, the artists emphatically oppose any appeal to irony within both artistic, and theoretical discourses. Irony is equated with the unwillingness to directly specify certain thematics, or to straightforwardly attack certain symbolic orders, and remaining in gratuitous observations, deprived of any real standpoint: bereft of a really accountable position. This pamphlet formed the foundation of a series of principles developed together with Van Gerven Oei.
