Art, Property of Politics

2010

Exhibition, documentary, and publication focusing on artworks from the private collections of all political parties represented in the Rotterdam City Council, the Netherlands.

The aim of the project was to map the relation between a given artwork and the ideological background of the party that owned the artwork. This materialized through a systematic comparison between the political program of each party and the backgrounds and artistic motivations that resulted into the artwork, but also through the documentary in which politicians were invited to introduce the objectives of their party by way of the artworks in their collection.
